WINES
In order to show how each vintage and each variety is expressed at different levels according to vinification and maturation – yet maintain a cohesive, characteristic line – we define our wines according to three categories:
Klassik
Fruity, animated, young-drinking wines matured in stainless steel tanks. These are vinified from the grape varieties Gelber Muskateller, Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Morillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Scheurebe. Read more...
Sites
Because each site has a very specific geological and mineral make up, my challenge is to let the character come through in the wines. I do this by letting the grapes ripen on the vine for as long as possible, and through minimal interruption during vinification. Also, the wines are matured slowly and softly in large wooden barrels. I use the varieties Morillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Weißburgunder and Grauburgunder to create these wines; wines that exude their distinct character of origin. Read more...
Reserve
Only in the best of vintages are the ripest grapes from specially selected vines of the Kranachberg gathered, vinified and matured in small wooden barrels. These are wines of calmness and depth – and the potential for a decades-long lifespan. Read more...
